Financial Literacy Micro-Credential

CUES Financial Literacy Program

Central Utah Educational Services (CUES) and Utah State Board of Education (USBE), in partnership with BloomBoard and EverFi, is sponsoring a competency-based Financial Literacy micro-credential for Utah educators beginning in February of 2018.

Participants in this program will have the opportunity to complete the EverFi Financial Education Certified Teacher micro-credential as part of a collaborative national cohort of educators.

In order to earn this micro-credential, participants will have to implement one of four EVERFI courses (Vault, FutureSmart, EVERFI Financial Literacy or Venture - Entrepreneurial Expedition) with students. The micro-credential will lead educators through the implementation of these student courses. See Required micro-credential Steps on page 3 of this document for further information.

Program Objectives:

  • Educators earn the EverFi Financial Education Certified Teacher micro-credential

BloomBoard is a digital platform for competency-based professional learning. To support this learning, BloomBoard offers facilitated programs around micro-credentials and collaborative spaces for discussion.

Micro-credentials are a digital form of certification indicating that an educator has demonstrated competency in a specific skill. Micro-credentials are job-embedded and promote learning by doing – to earn a micro-credential, educators must apply their learnings in their practice, collect evidence, and demonstrate their competence.
